Delete your account
How to delete your Najik account, what is removed when you do, and the little we are required to keep.
From inside the app
The quickest way, and it takes effect immediately:
- Open the Najik app and tap your profile chip at the top of the home screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the You screen and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You are signed out on every device and the account is closed.
By email
If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, write to support@najik.in with the subject line Delete my Najik account and the mobile number the account was created with. We may send a one-time code to that number to confirm the request came from you. We act on email requests within 7 days and confirm by reply.
What is deleted
- Your name, home area and profile.
- Everything you saved, followed or recommended.
- Your search history, interests and the record of which posts you were shown.
- Notification tokens, so no device receives Najik notifications for this account again.
- Your mobile number and recovery email. The account is marked deleted and can no longer be signed in to. If you sign up again with the same number, you start as a new user.
What we keep
- Posts you replied to in Local Talk stay visible, without your name, so other people's conversations still make sense.
- If you registered a business, invoices and payment records for its subscription are kept for eight years after the financial year they relate to, because Indian tax law requires it. They are not used for anything else.
- Aggregate counts that cannot identify you, such as how many people viewed a business's post.
