Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Najik is operated by Lionasys Technologies Private Limited, registered at B-464, Money Plant High Street, Jagatpur Road, Gota, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. In this policy, “we” and “Najik” mean that company, and “you” means anyone using the Najik app or najik.in.
Location data
Najik is built around proximity, so location is central to how it works. This section sets out exactly what that means.
- What we collect. Your approximate or precise device location, depending on the permission you grant, and only while the app is open.
- What we do not collect. We do not collect your location in the background. When the app is closed, Najik is not tracking where you go.
- Why we collect it. To work out which businesses are near you, to order your feed by distance, and to show the distance on each post.
- What we do not do with it. We do not sell your location data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- How long we keep it. We use your location to build your feed while you are using the app. We do not keep a history of where you have been, and we do not build a record of your movements over time.
- Turning it off. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. Najik will still open, but the feed cannot be ordered by distance without it, so you will be asked to set an area manually.
What else we collect
- Account details — name, mobile number and email address when you create an account.
- Activity in the app — what you save, follow, tap and scroll past, used to shape your feed.
- Device and usage information — device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports.
- Business information — if you register a business, the details you give us about it and the content you post.
How we use it
- To build and personalise your local feed.
- To operate your account and keep it secure.
- To show businesses aggregate statistics about how their posts performed.
- To fix problems, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
- To meet legal obligations in India.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf under contract, and where the law requires us to.
- Hosting and databases — Hostinger. Our servers and the PostgreSQL database holding your account and activity data are hosted with Hostinger, on infrastructure in India.
- Payments — Razorpay. Razorpay processes subscription payments for business plans. Your card or UPI details go directly to Razorpay; we never see or store them.
- Email — Mailchimp. We use Mailchimp to send account and service emails, so your name and email address are processed by it.
Transfers outside India. Mailchimp is operated from the United States, so your name and email address leave India when we send you email. Everything else — your account details, your activity and your location — stays on infrastructure in India.
Your rights
Subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw a consent you gave us. Write to support@najik.in and we will respond within 30 days.
You can delete your account from within the app. Deleting removes your profile, saved posts and follows.
We keep invoices and transaction records for business subscriptions for eight years after the end of the financial year they relate to, because Indian tax law requires us to. These records are kept for that purpose only and are not used to build a profile of you or to contact you.
Children
Najik is not intended for anyone under 18, and our terms require you to be 18 or over to hold an account. This matches the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which treats anyone under 18 in India as a child.
We ask for your date of birth when you create an account and do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their data, write to support@najik.in and we will delete the account and the data held under it.
Grievance Officer
Under India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you can raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer:
Kaushal Patel
support@najik.in
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days, as the rules require.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
